$300 MAX. Looking for a mod for an 02 lancer ES. I have an air intake right now. Thinking about custom catback... Will that boost HP/TQ at all or is it a waste? Anything else better for the money?

If you want TQ and HP (and it wont be alot unless you go turbo, obviously) do mods on the intake side..RR throttlebody is $299 and will go with your intake and help with throttle response. The RR Crank Pulley will give you the most bang for your buck ($99)...it does alot for low end. If you start doing things like headers, exhaust, and high flow cat, you will loose TQ because you will loose backpressure. I can tell you from experience the exhaust will kill your TQ without getting all the intake side mods. If you can, and since you already have an intake, hold out and get the RR piggyback ECU. I'm telling you though, for $99 you cant go wrong with the RR crank pulley. Then go Piggy, TB, IM, and headers (or headers then IM). Stock exhaust is not too bad until/if you go turbo and the headers will remove one of the two cats. Other cheap little mods that smooth out performance are the irridium plugs, plug wires, and grounding kit-they dont yield real performance gains but really smooth out exhisting power performance, but they are not that necessary.

RRM crank pully FTW! He's right, it's the best bang for the buck. He pretty much hit the nail on the head. Intake side is better for TQ, it's just up to you to make the decision.

I'd take the Piggy before the pulley anytime... even though it's the Ver.1

i'd say go for the RRM pulley...thats $100. and you said $300 max, get that piggyback too. those are probably the current best two mods short of going turbo.

I checked out your OZ. All black is cool. Mine is all white. That is an interesting exhaust. I checked DC Sports website and they didn't have those for our car, at least not at the moment. How do you like that badboy? I can see how that would help with backpressure.

Thats a good deal for the V1 and you wont have all the gremlins that come with V2. I talked to Rob at RR and specificly asked about the differences between V1 and V2 because I have V1 and wanted to know if V2 was much better and Rob didn't feel that it was significant enough to consider it a worthwhile upgrade from V1 You should get piggy and the pulley with the $300 max- You would be real happy with that leap in performance. But for that price just the piggy would be $200 well spent and the way to go.

and people have started making their own maps for both versions. I say get the piggy before you get anything else.

its a pretty nice exhaust, it sounds pretty good and its something unique. DC sports discontinued that exhaust unfortunately, but they still make the single canister for the lancer.

Can't anyone decide for themselves?

I usually have a wishlist planned far ahead so my money is spent as soon as I get it.

300 bucks...

Performance:

Ebay. Apexi SAFC NEO.

People say the NEO isn't that much of an improvement... It's not, they're right.... But there's lots of little differences that makes it a worth-the-money product.... Plus I've heard leaning out your engine does increase your gas milage.

OR

Saftey:

Cop Detector. Beltronics STI i believe is undedectible by the 5-0.
