so any comments about the engine? i would like to know. I thinking of making a ram air like setup. The kind of setup civics use when they are racing. THere will be a hole in the headlight which runs through a tube connected to the air flow meter. And pro's and cons about this setup.

What exhaust manifold is that? It looks like it's made of copper.

Since we don't have the Lancer GLS here in the states (and since there's no other pics of your car), would that be comparable to our Mirage or our Lancer?

it's not made out of copper those are the headers that i had fabricated at a local muffler shop here in the philippines. They told me its made out of some ceramic type material and it was painted to look like a DCsports header.(dont ask me why they just did it) I'll try to bother my mom again for her digi camera so that i can show you what my car looks like.

About your intake setup

Pro: Very good ram air induction
Con: If street driven, concerns about rain and road debris comin in throug the intake tube.

BlkLancer well im the first in this forum but in the Philippines it's a pretty common swap. Kinda like the civic B16 swap. I should know cuz my bro drives a b16 civic and the reason why i got the swap was to go toe to toe with him. Anyways back to the topic. Well i havent redline the engine yet. The mechanic told me to break it in first. It's practically fresh as fresh goes. Only 12,000 on the odometer. The motor was relatively a bolt on affair. Just had to change the belts. Curiously i didnt need to change my ECU. The mechanic stated that our Lancer's here have the Hyper Performance computer box so it didnt need to change it. Driving home well the engine felt different from the old one. A little bit more torque but then again i have to test it tomorrow cuz my mom was with me going home. So i did'nt get to "Mivec" it hehehe love those dual cams....can't wait to race my bro.

Crzylizard but aside from rain and road debris is there anything else that i should worry about. Cuz i have this friend who is very good at fabricating ram air induction. He says that I can still use my head lights but one of them will have a hole where the intake will get it's air. He says he will put a piece of pantyhose inside the funnel for the intake. Im thinking is that enough to keep stuff out? and should i get a intake bypass valve for for the rain? Cuz this is a permanent ram air induction. Also issues about the oil...

I'm not sure about the engine placement of the US lancer and Mirage. Cuz our lancer's here in the phils is based on the Japan spec or so i've heard...

WTF are you talking about?

If you mean that the 4g94 is underpowered...well, it's a different engine for a different market. The US Lancers were not built to be anything other than an economy sedan. The 1.6l MIVEC may have more HP, but it lacks the relatively flat, even powerband and torque (especially at lower RPMS) that the 4g94 produces. That'ts not to say one engine is faster or better than the other, just that they serve different purposes. You're thinking too narrow mindedly to make progress with what you've got (which is more than ample for tuning).

I still couldn't see the body style of the car from the pics provided.
