new engine
I have to agree with Hobie on that one. I've heard the Lancer in the US produce alot of torque down low in the rpm range. And there is nothing bad about the 4G94. In fact if matters were different, I like the body of the US spec lancer. Looks like a IS300 and i love the IS300 body. Dont worry hobie my mom is gonna lend me her camera again. She doesnt live with us you see...Ill setup the pics as soon as possible.
To Blklancer I already tested the mivec and floored it going to my friends haus. It was in Skyway(i'm sure all filipinos who live here in the phils. know what the significance of this place is hehehe) The torque was roughly the same as my old engine( hmmm???) but as the rpm rose to 5000rpm-5500rpm. The engine turned into a screaming demon!! The transition to low-cam to high-cam was really felt!! **** it felt like my car has a b16 engine in it! **** that experience was amazing....SiR's(the Si in the phils.) better watch out. I've got pics of my car but they are too big to be attached here. If some of you guys would be nice enough to help get it up online here so that you can see my car.
All merged together. Should make a bit more sense now. Not a bad lookin' car. Yeah, that'd be like our Mirage here in the states (before the model line was discontinued). The pics help put things in context.
How can you not run the MIVEC ecu? Your stock ecu wouldn't have a/f plotlines to map proper powerband. At 5.5K, the MIVEC is just kicking on.
Besides, did your original engine has DOHC? If not, how in the world SOHC ecu programming control an extra set of cam.
Stupid example of mine: what if a space alien abducted you and inplanted a 3rd lung or a 2nd heart? when you wake u, you feel fine, but you know something is wrong.

Cuz the hyperperformance computer air fuel plotlines is made to so that it can run DOHC engines. CitiMotors (it's the Mitsu dealership here) gives an option on adding the Mivec engine if you buy the Lancer GLS. The people who work there and I quote told me that the stock ECU of the Lancer GLS and the MX(invecs 2 tyranny) not the GLXI cuz it's a 1.5 carby, can be used for the Mivec. The reason why people buy the GLS SOHC cuz it's alot cheaper to get an 2nd hand engine off the market than the MIVEC off the dealership. Hyper performance computer was design with the engine swap in mind i've seen the mechanic who swapped my engine use a program to remap my a/f lines. A friend of mine swapped a 4G63 N\A using the the GLS2001 stock ecu.
I thought the MIVEC kicked in mechanically, and the ECU didn't do anything to control it. I thought that was one of the differences between MIVEC and V-TEC. Somebody please tell me how wrong I am.
hi there,
i made an engine swap yesterday with 4g92 mivec... but i think the mivec is not working properly...
can you post the mivec ecu & computer id number so i get my mivec on.
can the vtec compuer be used to run my mive? if yes which one?
