yeah, resonators are just a small "silencer" for your exhaust. Mufflers muffle the sound at the end of the exhaust. Although some exhaust do the opposite and shouldn't be called mufflers.

The mufflers you're looking at are better for my V8 Camaro... just hunt the Classifieds until you find a decent used Lancer muffler...

superalf574 - It's all up to YOU. Do you like the sound? If not, try the resonator...

yeah the resonator doesnt do anything for performance really, its only if you or the inspection thing thinks its too loud. I have a magnaflow axelback with an intake and i love the sound of it, but i think because its such a low bass note that if it were any louder, it would get annoying or make other passengers ears hurt from the vibrations.

Get a Magnaflow muffler. not a resonator. The Magnaflow mufflers sound great IMO. Very smooth, and even better when turbo..

I bought a flowmaster (shutup ) and the piping from JCWhitney a couple weeks ago and fabbed my own catback. I like the sound- deep tone at idle, growls with throttle and only rasps a little in first above 4K RPM. It's not too loud and I painted the 6" extension that's coming out of the muffler flat black so the popo can't be like "WTF?! RICER!!!!"

Everything you listed will cost you more in tickets the first week than it would cost to buy a decent axleback (or catback depending on how often you get pulled over for excessive noise).

$100 ain't really gonna do much. Get a decent muffler (Magnaflow, Flowmaster, hell even a Summit), and then get a shop to make you a custom axleback/catback/etc. It'll probably be more like $200 to $300, but it'll be done RIGHT, which is the key...

the flowmaster, the one 45* aluminized mandrel bend and a flange will run about $95 plus ship from JC Whitney. An axle back shouldn't take more than an hour to fab together. So yeah, you're looking at $200 if you have to have a shop do it. Don't regular people in Florida weld? Get a neighbor or another car-nut to do it for you (probably only gonna cost you a 6er of 'Merican beer or a couple energy drinks and some conversation )

lmao. yes your right i know people who can weld. for no more than a 6pack of bud. lol

i might get an axelback then. where would i get one for a cheap price. links?

also in florida there are 0 car laws. you can drive "anything". they dont do yearly car checks or anything. and also police dont pull you over for anything. lol

i could remove all my cat converters and drive happily around with no problems. lol

In that case, unbolt and remove everything rear of the cat. Then have fun.
