Exclamation Help With AEM Water By-Pass Valve

Hey y'all I just got my AEM Water By-Pass Valve, In the instructions I says I need to cut the intake pipe?

Is there a way around cutting the pipe? I don't really want to cut my new $200 toy. Also Do I really need the Valve? Are the chances of hydo lock that great, should I just send it back or sell it? Some info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you should have researched that before, a lil too late now isn't it?

Anyway, you have to cut the pipe, in the section where is vertical.
Also, i don't think you need the bypass valve unless you are driving in flooded areas where the filter will actually suck in a lot of water. The filter won't suck any rain water if that's what you are worried about.

Can I install it before or after the MAS and still use its functionality?

i wasn't impressed with the by pass valve, there is no valve it is always sucking i put mine on with my injen cai. i had to cut about inch off of the pipe that wraps down to the filter. if you pull back that foam you will see there is no flap. it does work, a neat test is after you have it on pull your filter off turn on the car put your hand over the pipe, the car will almost die. your aem bypass valve will be sucking enough air to keep the car on. point is if you start sucking up water it will reach a certain point where it is easier to suck through the bypass valve then the filter. that means you didn't f your motor up.if your worried about driving in 2foot water put it on if not don't use it.

Guys...this is why a trusted tuner/installer is invaluable! The bypass valve is specifically NOT for use with turbocharged cars.
