Thumbs up Impressions of INJEN cold air intake

ALLO ALLO! I installed the INJEN cold air intake on my OZ rally 2 days ago and just wanted to make known thats it is AWESOME! At about 3500 rpms it really makes a difference and you can hear it! The increase in horsepower is definitly noticeable, at least to me it was. A good investment!

Good to hear! I had similar impressions of my Injen intake that was on my 2000 Eclipse. My 1/4 mile times backed up the gains I felt on the butt-o-meter.
Do you have any pics? I would like to see where they locate the filter etc.

Here is a pic of the intake... this isnt MY lancer but it looks exactly the same. Also, if you get and are going to install this intake, one the the steps tells you to remove the whole front bumper to cut a hole for the pipe in the splashguard... if you go underneath the area where the filter will sit you can pop out a few plastic clips and take the piece that need to be cut off so its easier to cut... its ALOT faster and easier this way.

1st, what happens when it rains, and 2nd is it really worth spending $250? I know that the K&N filter itself is about 80, but $170 dollars worth of piping?

The filter is not exposed to the rain or splash up or anything... unless you somehow submerge the whole front end of your car. Personally, i think it was worth it.

Talking I agree

I love my Injen intake i was just thinking that since the "mesh" in front of the air filter on the front bumper is solid, what if we drill some holes between the "mesh". would the extra air be beneficial?

Ya, its a Bizitch getting those bolts off. Most shops use an air gun to get the bolts off quickly... other wise you have to find a pair of vise grips that can hold the bolts. I found a pair of Vise grips vertically clamped onto the bolts while another pair clamped (to the vertical ones)horizontaly helps get some leverage. Watch your MAS, you don't want to accidentally beat or smash the honey combs.

I don't know what good the RRM hood scoop would do for the Injen intake seeing as a the location of the actual filter/intake is in front of the left front tire behind the bumper, and is no where near the hood.

I hear driving without your front bumper increases air flow.

I just installed the Injen intake on my car. Those little plastic clips took forever. I then took off the little "grill" so the air flows diectly into the compartment. The actual intake installation took only about 20 minutes, but the bumper took a couple of hours. Looks good and runs great.
