Mitsuozboi, did you completely tear apart your stock airbox apart when you were removing it? The bolts holding the mas to the airbox will just not come out. After an hour of gently coercing to come out (beating the **** out of it) the airbox imploded. No way I can put the stock airbox back in now... Did this happen to you? Any of you?

nope. just used a socket and they came right out. they were tight but nothing where I had to strain over. haha.

stock airbox is useless anyways.. only thing useful is the snorkel.

i had the same problem. it took me and another guy to get em out. one held the airbox, one unscrewed

just keep at it, they will come out eventually

definately nothing to worry about. a buddy of mine installed it in his car and we started to hear the same noise you have been describing. we searched and poked and prodded all around and came to the conclusion it was also comming from the intake. we just figured it had something to do with the throttle body and the filter and let it go hoping for the best. turns out that it is actually normal so that's good to know on our part and i can pass it on to him.

totally normal. i noticed it is more pronounced with the sri as it is with the cai. some guy who works in a garage around here used to race civics and he said that noise is just air getting sucked in. haha i know what you mean though I got really scared the first time i heard it

The plastic pieces that are supposed to keep the oval bolt head in place while you turn the nut just broke away like cheapo plastic. I swear Mitsu set it up this way. I have the dremel in my possesion, but I have no clue what I'm doing. I'm definately going to screw this up. I think I bit off more than I could chew with this damn install.

It's not hard, just dremel away the stock box making sure not to hit the maf.

I'm finishing it up in the morning. Everyone pray to the aftermarket gods that I don't screw myself.

I hear the same thing from my SRI. It's an Injen and I hear a sucking wooshing sound when I shut the car off. It gets louder or softer depending on the temperature and how hot my engine and the engine bay is.

Do you have any vibration at idle with the stiff motor mount? Do you think it's because you only have the one mount that you feel the vibration? I'm getting ready to take this damper off because of the annoying *** vibration at idle!!!
