CAI (cold air intake)
or
SRI (short ram intake).

ANY intake will do the same thing. Be it an aftermarket $250 CAI, or a $20 DIY CAI/SRI.

A CAI will gets its air from the fender well, where little to no heat exists. A SRI will get its air from the engine bay where temps. may be elevated at times. The difference in performance is not noticeable. However the theory stands that the cooler the intake air, the more dense it is, increasing performance.

If you car is an automatic than CAI will not fit because transmission is in the way. Only way u can put CAI on auto is by removing the batterey which can cause some dirty disasters so i recommend SRI if you have auto lancer.

There are plenty threads on this forum proving SRI is better than CAI. Also you dont need to worry about the rain or water going in with SRI.

Then the rest kicks in. If you want it to stay N/A, then Headers, SRI, Maybe some plugs, pulley, etc.

RRm will provide you with most, if not all of those things.

just grab a heat sheild from ebay ($20) grab cheap nice looking SIR off of Ebay ($25-$40) then grab K&N filter ($50) and swap your cheap filter with K&N, that is best good SIR for around $100. Less if you look around

I got an AEM dryflow from ebay and the filter adapter, thats all you need for now on intake. Exhaust mods dont help much, I would get the RRM crank pulley after the intake.
