Battery Crank Amps

Since I don't think there is a dedicated electrical systems forum, I'll post in engine tech.

Does anyone know the cranking amps for the stock battery? Once in a while the car hesitates when turning over. It cranks easily, but has trouble keeping itself going for just a second.

I've got 25,000 on the original plugs, but since there is no hesitation in power delivery once the car is running, I don't think those are the cause of this.

I've used the stock battery to jump my Accord several times. (F22A4 2.2L). I think that might have given the battery more of a kick than it was designed to handle. The car's charging system seems to be intact, so maybe those 3 or 4 jumps did in the stock battery.

The car's an '02 that I've had for 14 months. I've never had a stock battery need replaced in this short span, the Accords stock battery lasted 12 years (it's a 1990).

Looking for sugesstions on what kind of battery to pick up. I'd like one with ungodly amounts of cold crank amps so the engine won't have as hard a time turning over, but I'm not familar with brands.

Just the basic info for the stock battery would be fine, I can't seem to find it in the manual or on the battery itself.

Have you considered the Optima Yellow Tops? I know next to nothing about batteries cept I know the yellow tops are quite popular, available for around 150 or there abouts, and quite good (from what I hear). Not to mention they're lighter.

I'll look into that, thanks Hobie.

I'm hoping to hear that your troubles with AEM end soon.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't give a more informed opinion. zlancer or anyone else who has a heavy system (esp. comp. quality) would be able to give you more info on this kinda stuff too, but I was hoping to get the ball rolling.

Hmm...according to Optima's site, there are no models for the Lancer. Somehow I doubt that. Guess I'll have to head to pep-boyz in the next couple weeks and take a look.
