CAI: Need help

Hi,

I just installed the AEM CAI into my car, and i need help.

You know the spot where the filter is? and there are those plastic panels that surround it. Do i keep those in? or take them off, because i don't see the filter getting that much air like that? and i don't want my mileage screwing up.

(also i live in Calgary, Canada lots of dust, and lots of snow... )

I was considering taking out these plastic things, and retrofitting my own little sheet metal thing, with birdscreen or something like that...

What do you think?

you shouldn't take them off. its not like its sealed or anything. the filter gets plenty of air. but you can take off the front plastic grill on that side on the of the car on the bumper to open it up a little.
