when im at a stop light my idling starts to jump frm 1100 rpm than dwn to about 800 900 rpm than jus keeps jumping between those rpm. idling at stop is roug. dny knw wut it is.

 

Any mods? Auto or manual?

 

exhaust, intake, manual, and jus put on a test pipe frm rrm, but it was happening before i installed my test pipe

 

I have the same thing happen at times... for me it's the Air Conditioning compressor kicking in and out... even when I have A/C turned off!

 

Sounds to me like a vaccum line is off maybe......? Maybe you took one off when you put the intake on? Hummm.... Any check engine lights? Reset the computer by disconnecting battery for a few mins!! And last of all go get some injector cleaner (recommend the brand GUMOUT) and put it in your gas. maybe you have dirty injectors. I run it threw every month or so. The idle gets better. Try all that and let me know.

 

yea the engine light is on but i had took it to the dealer and said it was my catalytic converter the first one, so im thinkin of buyin tha rrm headers and hopefully the engine light will turn off and i get normal idling. and i will check my vacum hose and run sum injector cleaner and hopefully that will help a lil bit. thanks

 

Was the light on before you did the testpipe?? If so, if they said it was your first cat then your O2 sensor that reads air/fuel mixture is that cat and may have gone bad. How many miles are on your car?? My advice is to go to Discount Auto Parts or Autozone and have them read your codes. There machine will tell you if its the O2. Also, has your gas mileage gone down???

 

Might be because of the CEL.

 

yea it was on before tha test pipe was installed. it may be the o2 sensor but tha dealer said my sensors was fine and that my cat is the one thats bad. plus that o2 sensor was just installed last month

went to autozone this morning and put it on the computer reader it read that my rpm is high they said it could be my idle air control so im going to adjust it in a view and hopefully that solves the problem.

 

If you are going to buy the rrm headers, make sure it comes with the CEL eliminator because the rrm headers alone will just trigger the check engine light on. hmm...I'm just wondering, did the injector cleaner work a lil bit? Was there any change?

 

jus a lil change but i think it was my idle air control that was triggering the problem my idling was high i lowered it to about 600 to 700 rpm reseted my battery and cel is off so hopefully that was tha problem. still getting some jumping in my idling so now got to figure out y the idle is jumping.

 

cel is off but stl gettin jumping at a stop idle jumps betwwen 600 and 800 rpm dnt knw wuts stl making idle jump at a stop
