oil in a plug!!! help

ok the day before yesterday my cars vavle cover was pouring oil out of it and i tightened the bolts and then it started idling very bad. like it was about to die and then it would die. so i took it to the shop yesterday morning and they said it was the vavle cover gasket and they put it on and told me to come get it that it was fixed. but its not its still idling very bad and dieing. then i told them to **** off after they charged me almost 150$ to fix nothing. i got home took the plugs out and one plug had oil on it when i took it out. my step dad said i had a blown motor? you guys have any ideas?

heres my .2 cents check your oil for coolant or your coolant for oil those are signs of a blown motor, another thing is beacause theres oil on your plugs clean em off or get new ones then start your car up check the idle afterwards.

Change all the plugs and all the fluid you can think of (oil, coolant, maybe even transmission fluid, brake/clutch fluid, etc.) and see it runs right. Have you done anything performance wise to the car?

Wow........lets see....make sure that the spark plug is sparking in that cylinder by arcing it aganist the block or what not. Make sure the coil hasnt gone bad for that cylinder. If you are getting spark, and you have cleaned the plugs and you still have oil on it then i think its time to check the compression!!! If the compression in the one cyclinder with oil is alot different than the rest than you have blown the motor. They only way oil could get in there would be from a piston ring failure.

This seems like two threads on one problem. The problems are clearly related. Might want to have a quality mechanic look your motor over. Possibly even the dealership, especially if you're still under warranty...

Could be oil blow-by caused by a bad piston ring...

Probably your leaking valve cover gasket pissing oil all over the plug, plug wire and shorting it out.

Go get some new plugs and wires (make sure your leak is fixed first) and reset the computer. Don't get any trick multiple ground strap crap either just some decent normal plugs. Let it idle for a few minutes. It will probably hunt for a little while but, should relearn how to idle.

Why was your car's valve cover leaking? Did you have it off for something? They don't usually just start leaking or loosen up for no reason.

i dont know. i was just able to turn the bolts with my fingers. so i have no idea why it was loose or how it got like that. then i tighted them and i t started leaking then. guess i put them too tight and messed the gasket up.
