changing engine block
You'll be told very soon to search first by lots of people, but specifically, you want to search for the engine code breakdowns, which have been discussed lots of times.
Quickly...
4 means 4-cyl
G I don't remember
1 is the engine family (different from 9, sorry)
and 8 is the revision within that family.
The 4G94 in the US Lancer for example is a bored out version of the 1.8L 4G93, so there is lots of similarity there.

Chances are that since they're not in the same family (i.e. 4g6x, 4g1x, 4g9x) the head and block won't just directly bolt to each other. I can't say I know for sure, but those are my words of warning.
EDIT: What car is this for btw? The ambiguous wording of the first post makes me think this isn't a 4g94 US Lancer, but I may just be reading it wrong.

yeah bro, this is not a US spec Lancer model. it's from a Proton Impian (the one participated in BTCC). it's somekind of abonded engine from mitsu. hehehehhe
as i do heard alot of comment about not to turbocharge the stock engine as it wun last long and the engine block is going to crack easily. i also do receive some comment about the 4G1X series block is said to be quite weak.
hence this makes me to search for other alternative for hybrid the engine block over.
