hey everyone....was wondering if anyone knows whats going on

i went auto-x today and got back and now my cars making funny noise....

its going ding ding ding....like a very quiet bell...

its coming from under the hood between the engien and the firewall...area


any ideas??? let me know ...please

 

is this going on when car is running? Or just battery is turned on?

i got no modes....its a stock oz rally

it happens when the car is running and when i gas it up a little it goes away (or u just cant here it anymore)....

however...i jumped in the car about an hour ago and instead of like a ringing type knocking it was just plain old knocking....notin loud or dangerous....just noticable

 

 

I have the same problem, when your car is running in a idle for me it's not so noticeable but, in my car you can really here more of a buzzing sound near the fire wall when you rev the engine past 2,000rpms and then you can't even hear it anymore when you go over 3,500rpms. If someone can help me with this also that would be awesome, I just want a general idea on what is going on. The only mods I have on my car is:

InJen CAI
Evo 2 exhaust system
Brembo Brakes
RRM Crank Pulley

ill try to get a sound clip.....

but it sounds like knocking....or clicking.....its behind the engine between it and the firewall....i think it may be somethin from the vaccum system....or whatever that thing is above the fuel rail

 

Some say the injectors make a clicking-like noise...

 

my gfs evo makes the same noise..its probably your injectors...or lifter tick......most likely injectors..nothign to worry about

 

thats what i was thinking....i was just surprised that i could hear it from outside of the car...

It might be that if it is knocking, some parts of the air box or air filter assemble is loose. It might be just hitting other parts when you are on idle, whenever you change gears. All you got to do is inspect for loose bolts/connection.

I had the same problem with my MAF sensor hitting the strut bar. I thought I had to change the clutch because the sound was like knocking inside the church located in MEXICO!!!!!

my car just doesnt like me...i swear

its making a new noise now... it sounds like a "whirring" sound....almost like a chain of some sorts being pulled really fast...

any ideas?

 

lol I think that first noise was just because you guys have the same avatar. That new noise you mentioned, is it coming from the passenger side of the engine? My friend got that same noise in his 03 but I don't have it in my 04, so we thought something was wrong but there were no problems from it, so we ignored it.
