Cold air
Cold air
Hey guys, I was wondering why cold air makes a diff in the performance you the car. I was just thinking that it is good for the cylinders but thts about all. O and i was also wondering, what oil i should put in my car. I will occasionally race but nothing major. Thanks for the help
Boy I was tempted to move this to the newbie forum...
Cold air increases your car's performance due to the fact that cold air has higher oxygen density. The more oxygen in the air/fuel mix, the more combustion, and more power. As for oil, I use a full synthetic. 10-W30.

Or to get more scientitious...
Air that's in a less excited (cold) state is more dense than air in an excited state (warm). So the cooler the temp the more there is air in a space of equal volume. More air = better combustion = more power from your engine.
...I'm bored and felt like adding more to pjal's post. Gimme a break.

Oil
I just changed mine myslef and used 5-W30 mobile one tri-synthetic with a fram 7317 filter. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I go expensive but I work at Jiffy Lube so I will just take their filter from now on to save some extra doh.
