Why not have a pressure regulating valve in a wider pipe rather than drive a brass instrument? Seems like building a bridge to cross the river when all you have to do is jump across.

EDIT: Ah...we're goin' way off topic here. Sorry. If you wanna make a new thread on the DC Sports exhaust please do, but let's keep this one from getting anymore off topic.
