What cam for 02 OZ?

I tried to search for this with no luck. What camshaft would work for my OZ with just a CAI, test pipe, exhaust?

Realistically none that would actually be worthwhile. If you want to upgrade the cam you need to open up the intake and exhaust side more and get some sort of way of tuning it.

You don't need one now, but for future reference, you can get one from RRM, or you can try RPW, they make a few different stages for different apps I think. RRMs works with turbo and NA.

RPW all the way, IMO the RRM one is too generalized to be effective or worth it.

Would a cam on a NA not be worthwhile?

If you have more NA mods (high comp pistons, p & p head, etc.) then I'm sure it'd be worth it but for the average guy it's a waste of money.

It would net you decent gains if you were to have it tuned with some other high dollar NA mods. But yeah RRMs is very mild made for anyone. RPWs are for more aggressive gains with more aggressive mods. But I'd wait till later when you are either turboed or have more NA mods and ready to pay for a good tune.

^Exactly, no point in doing it now when the gains will be minimal and you'll have to tune it again when you get other mods.

That really depends on your definition of "worthwhile."

To most tuners, the few HP you gain from it would make it a waste of money.
If you're just looking to get a little more power and also be one of the proud few with cams, then it could be "worth it".

To me, it's just not enough HP gained to justify the rather large cost.

RPW's site says to get the most (or any decent) gains out of there cams you need to open up the manifolds. They say manifolds and cam of the 4g94 are all designed for fuel economy, not performance. I'm thinking maybe a ported 4g93 intake manifold and a header then you may be happy with a cam. That's the route I'm thinking about anyway.

Depends on what cam you get, the more aggressive the cam, the more aggressive the engine needs to be.

No one has made a "serious NA rig", I would wager the most you could get out of a daily driven car is 150 hp.

Yeah, I don't think you could get more than 200 hp from a DD. But I am curious to see what a fully built, topped out, pro tuned NA lancer could put down, just for ****s and giggles. Sadly, the price would be like 15 Gs just in parts and labor.

Mirage 2.0 is the closest and he's thinking of putting his lancer into DD retirement.
