Question throttle body

is the RRM throttle body worth buying. It seems pretty steep for only a 5% increase in HP. What are owners thoughts?

It depends if you wanna go all out or not. Some people just stick with intake and exhaust. Others like myself get intake, throttle body, header, test pipe, and exhaust. Just depends how much you wanna do.

Well put. As for the price/hp gain, yeah, it's a bit steep, but only if you're interested in just basic boltons like intake and exhaust.

Look at it this way: the whole point of getting other mods like an intake/header/testpipe/exhaust is to free up airflow. Well, after getting an aftermarket intake, the next cause of restriction in airflow is the throttle body.

Is it an actual Lancer throttlebody that has been ported and polished, or is in an actual aftermarket throttlebody?

If it is the stock one, you can easily port and polish it yourself with a simple dremmel tool.. I've done it for another car that I had, with great results..... Save some cash that way..

Don't give me any idea you ... To bad, it's too late... now I wanna do that But I'm too chicken to do so. Does it have to be perfectly even or is there an "error margin". If it's not too hard and complicated, it might be a great project.

I keep looking at this picture and I still can't figure something out. Probably cause I don't know enough about boring a TB.

Is the TB plate the same or is it a bigger one? Do they bore only before and after the plate?

I'm pretty sure it's 4mm, not 5mm. I could just be remembering incorrectly though. As for the 2.4l tb working, that's no guarantee it will cross models without modifications.

E-manage and MAP sensor or ems and map sensor. Ya only need one solution.

Anywho, I'm getting off topic. Consider me unhijacking this thread.
