Rrm Ecu

Saw Road Race has a new ECU mapping. My question is this: why exactly does a person with the new ECU have to run 91 octane? i know it's to prevent knocking, but how would a reflashed ECU do this? My only guess is that it wouldn't add enough gas to the mixture because it would be thinking in terms of 91 octane...

My guess is Modified Timing. But try the link Wadadlig posted. There is tons of info in there
