I seriously doubt you did any damage, so don't really sweat it. If you still want to clean you engine, though, kerosene is a miracle worker.

Dont beleive what is writen on the label if you are running a new car within the last 5 or 6 years. The design are far better improved to prevent clogging of any injectors or fuel deliever system.

Beleive it or not, it is these buildups in our engines that prevent leaks and premature failure.

Especially things like engine flushes, dont use them. As for fuel system flushes, your better off not using them, they provide no performance gain and if your car is being robbed of power, the power loss is less then 2% even for a car with 80,000km on it. If you use a cleaner in that car you risk failure in engine components of new types of cars.

Now for old cars, go right ahead, those engines are made out of thick sold metal, not the best of quality but generally their designs are flawed in that they can lead to fouling of plugs, blockage, engine sludge and all.

But again the money you spend onthat stuff, you could probably pay for any replacement part that were to fail, compared to the part your attempting to protect? lol make sense, haha i almost lost myself in that explination.

anyways as everyone else said, STAY AWAY, or you may bring Death and Destruction to your car

actually my uncle who worked for shell for 30+ years told me to put some engine cleaner for your car i dont remember if it was an engine cleaner or fuel system cleaner.. but he said i should use it every 4000ish miles.. if it doesnt do anything oh well its 4-6 bucks every 3-4 months so i dont care... i guess its like the placebo effect lol

I personally run 89 octane enriched with ethanol (gotta represent the farmers in Nebraska and it's cleaner!) and plan on running an injector cleaner every 5,00 or so.... my 2 cents.

You are forgetting that gas companies more so now then before started using additives in the fuel already. The concentation point is enough to ensure clean burning already.

So using those cleaners doesnt serve the purpose anymore. I think in the near future you will see lawsuits resulting in using these cleaners in new cars.

just a theory but hey who knows. what ever makes people sleep better at night. I saw that movie 30 nights or what ever, Vampire movie has me freaked out lol

I've seen lawsuits involving Jiffy Lube using these products, which resulted in blown engines, but never any against the manufacturer of the products themselves.

Also, remember that engine/injector cleaner isn't a substitute for timely oil/oil filter & air filter changes Keeping up with scheduled maintenance is the best way to treat your car...not dumping crap into your engine.

Seems like I learn something new everyday. I think im just gonna go back to 87 from a big Gas company (Sunoco/Mobil) and not put that cleaner crap in my car. Definitely gonna try and get the SRI and Exhaust soon from RRM though. Thanks for all the advice guys :-)!

I completely agree with the scheduled maintenance, and would also suggest a fully synthetic oil. I use MOBIL 1 full synthetic.

For all of you saying running supreme gas is a waste of money think of it twice . Here the gas price is 1.034$ a liter 87 octane and on thursday the supreme gas is 3¢ cheeper rather then being 109.4$/L its only 1.064$. I usealy put 40 liters every time i fill up so it's only an extra 1.20$ a tank to use supreme vs regular . Considering my car averages 9L/100km that means i only have to make an extra 15km a tank to pay the extra cost of supreme . Well enough i usally make an etra 20-40km using 91 octane vs 87 octane . So if you do the math ITS CHEAPER to use supreme gas . Also supreme gas as more additive to keep your fuel system cleaner . In the overall run its cheaper to run supreme . If you don't beleive me its your problem , write an email to shell or what ever , an engineer will write you back explaning the math behind gas and they also claim a 2-5% better gas millage using 91 octane vs 87 .

my 2 cents

you have to ask your self is it worth spending more money on a higher grade that your car wasnt designed for. It is cleaner in terms of less sulfer content *depending on brand.

The money you spend on that, can go towards hardware upgrades that can do something to affect fuel economy. So long as you do not speed beyond the normal threshold your car was designed for , Eg. 100 kp/h upgrades such as a cat back and Intake will increase engine efficenty. You can actually get more milage out of your car if you dont drive agressive. Which is something very easy to do when more power is availible.

I imagine that use of the words "Premium" and "Regular" is intentionally misleading. It makes it sound like spending more money on your gasoline is "better" for your car. Feel free to spend more $$$ on gas if it makes you feel good. As for me, I can find better charities to which to donate my money than oil companies.

Perhaps the placebo effect also comes into play making people think the premium gasoline is giving them better performance and/or gas mileage.

If your car calls for 87 octane, then using a higher octane gasoline won't improve anything except the oil company's bottom line.

well if the cost difference was a little closer, I would be running on 91 or 94 Sunoco fuel, its cleaner. Less crap in their fuels.
