With all due respect to RRM, I think that the represenative that just responded is a little off. It is true that if you go to a disreputible muffler shop, more than likely, you will get screwed. That goes for anything in life.

AS for inferring that I am speaking about what I do not know, the RRM muffler has a picture of the internal of the muffler that is utilized, and it is an H-flow as opposed to the straight through.

The job that I had done was 200 for completely upped piping, all bent, a completely custom job. The muffler, similarily was special ordered, stainless steel, and one I researched before agreeing to it.

I respect RRM simply because, as we drivers of the Lancer DEVO are, they are pioneers. They are the first to offer specialty parts for the Lancer other than RMR, which is overpriced for the most part, and only to be marked up further by the dealer. In fact, I will be ordering the kit for the short shift and the hosing kit quite soon. HOWEVER, I do not care for the design of their muffler or their so called short ram, just as I do not care for either the so called cold air intake (see my post about intakes for further information on both the "short ram" and the "cold air") or muffler kit of RMR.

I hope I do not insult RRM due to the fact that I have a great deal of respect for that company, but this was a post for voicing opinions about what exhaust is best for the Lancer.

I simply state that the best way to go in my personal opinion is through a custom job, granted you don't just pick something out of the yellow pages. In other words, do your homework.

Mistaken.

your quote

Oops. I see the problem. Only pic of internal exhaust on our site is the stock Lancer Muffler. That is not ours! That is stock muffler. ours is striaght through! Double check yourself and you will see where you mistated yourself. No problem. Just clarify it for folks.

Hmmm Ralliart. Sitting here reading these damn posts I'm not thinking before I type; however, don't tell me that I'm making something out to be better just because I own it; because if thats what you're saying then you're the one lacking intelligence I stated that I liked my exhaust and that I personally disliked loud exhausts and fart can exhausts now whether or not the RMR or RRM sound the same I couldn't tell you because I don't know anyone who owns an RMR I only know how my exhaust sounds, but unless you're blind or realllllly stupid I would think its fairly obvious that they are 2 completely different mufflers be they made by the same manufacturer or not. The RMR is a smaller muffler than the RRM , being that it is a smaller muffler it should produce a louder exhaust tone(probably fartish) which is thusly undesireable to me. Now I made no mention as to the efficiency of either muffler being better or worse so please do not make any further comments about my intelligence until you decide to master the art of reading comprehension and the kindergarden skill of looking at 2 pictures and being able to tell which apple's green and which is red.

When I went to that site, there were two different pics, comparing to two. I did not see a straight. If I saw wrong, my apologies.

I would like to stress my appreciation and clear up anything that may have been misleading. I am grateful in the fact you decided to pick up the lancer and be one of the first to pioneer specialty parts for our car like streelancer said. I am in no way trying deppreciate your company. I just had other options available I didn't know I had. I am adising people to shop around, and don't buy the first thing they see, You have a great company and I have a lot of respect for you. I am to buying your short shifter kit, hoses, and possibly a turbo kit if ever available.

I agree with JGAOZ, i think you guys do a great job of creating quality products for a good price, but there are all these people bad mouthing other companies because they own your products, i just dont think its very rational.....anyways, i think everyone appreciates what your doing for this vehicle.

by the way, you guys should try making your own body-kit, i think you guys could make something like rmr did with their front lip and rear spoiler, but you guys could make a much better looking lip, side skirts, and rear spoiler for much cheaper. just my two cnts but if you tried copying the evo VI lip with the small vents, then it would be affordable and i could guarentee you it would be in demand.

Thanks for clearing stuff up. I new something was wrong when RRM exhaust was mistaken for stock Lancer exhaust pics on our site. As for body kits, can't really do it now, because we are busy doing CF parts for many other people. That part of the shop is tied up for months. What I have planned soon for Lancer is a replacement front grill, EVO style. It will probably be CF too with mesh center. Should be great replacement for the Pontiac looking piece of junk you guys have now.

Grill?

Hate to argue this point in this thread but...

Glad to hear RRM is branching out...

STRONGLY disagree with the comment about the grill. I think I am in the minority in feelings about that grill when I say I like it because it sets it apart. And, it isn't really pontiac looking, but kicks back to the look of older Mitsubishi products, but updated.

When I get a carbonfiber evo hood [God willing I can afford it one day], I will make sure I can keep the grill, just because I think that no other car has that look, and I wouldnt' want my car to look like an Evo. Before someone points it out, I will say that I like the evo hood for it's functionaliy, not it's resemblance to our gas-guzzling cousins overseas who are coming to visit soon. Be guarnteed when I buy from RRM, the grill will not be one of the things purchased. Sorry ROCK.

congradulations to road race, i read the article in SCC on your carbon fiber department....keep up the good work....but my opinion again...you guys should utilize how easy it is to swap fron lips and make a sweet lip, i really think it would be cheap, easy to install, and well in demand. just my two cents and no reply needed, just throwing out ideas.

Gonna stick up with the Rock on this subject, I have purchased several parts from RRM and I am very pleased with their performance.

No sound files but again, our exhaust has deep sound RMR is a bit more high pitched sounding. Ours is $280, comes with all hardware.
