Weird Engine Noise HELP!!!

Hello everyone I need some advice on this one. Now 3 days ago I noticed my engine is making a knocking or ticking noise coming from the valve cover. my friend said my Lifters might need adjusting or replaced.

So I take it to a mechanic and test drove my lifters have to be changed and that my timing belt should be changed and the belt possibly could be bad which is creating my lifters to go out and the noise is this any truth behind it if so is it a easy fix? costly?

I think all lancers have noisy lifters, mine would sound like diesel at times. What's the mileage of the car?

What oil weight do you normally use? What do you guys think about running a thicker weight oil about helping with the ticking?

u should use regular dino oil. something about the turbo could get starved of oil and blow.

Run dino oil, I noticed the motor was quieter using dino oil and if you go turbo, dino oil is a must.

LOL, dino oil = non-syn oil son... I'm guessing the shop will install and maintain the turbo kit for you?
