service engine soon light came on

so my service engine soon light came on and ive only owned my car for a week....

oil is full and clean.
antifreeze is also full and clean
full tank of gas
car sounds and runs smooth

any ideas?

could just be that when u fueled up u didnt close gas door or cap right

What mods do you have? When I put in My TBE it came on and then I bought CEL fix of ebay for 15 bucks and it didn't come back on. Good luck bro.

it could be from the stock cat recall thing, i've seen a lot of lancer with that not knowing they can get it fixed for free. just get the code pulled and post it here, we can help more with that.

Do you know specifically what code it is? Like P0xxx? There's like 30+ different codes for different problems with O2 sensors.

no i dont know it...question though...if i get a catback wont that replace the o2 sensor anyhow?

Nope. There is no O2 sensor in the catback section of the exhaust. The two O2 sensors are in the header and catalytic converter. Even if you replace the header and catalytic converter with aftermarket versions, the sensors must be transferred to the aftermarket parts. The car needs the O2 sensors to run properly.

Did you have them clear the service engine soon light when they scanned it? Did the light come back on?
