Probably because of the power steering.

Funny thing is, yesterday I went to hit the cruise control and the car just slowly started to pick up the revs while in gear (as if it were in neutral).

I thought, "my foot must be on the accelerator still OR the car must be in neutral" - so I take my foot away from the pedals and it's revving to 4.5rpm on it's own.

Then I tapped the brakes and it went away.

Sometimes my idle will jump up to 1200 RPM at a stop light and then bounce down to 600 for no reason withOUT the ac or turning. It kind of bothers me, I would like to know whats up too..
