if your engine blows up then simply bolt all the stock stuff back and then call the dealer. Then can't void your warranty unless they proved your non-stock part caused it, but they can sure deny your claim until you spend thousands of dollars in court to get them to obey the law...

The dealer will say anything not to cover a warranty repair. Unfortunately, they are often wrong and it is up to the consumer to be aware of our rights. In general, things that are likely to be replaced during the life of the car can be replaced with non-OEM parts that serve the same function. The warranty is only voided if the replacement parts do not serve the same pupose as the original part.
For instance, a cat back exhaust will not void your warranty. A cat delete will, however.
Replacement clutches are OK, as are brake pads and rotors and high flow air filters.
Also, replacement parts deemed to cause trouble will only void the warranty on that particular part of the car, not the whole warranty itself. If you turbo-charge your engine and the headlight switch fails, they still have to fix the headlight switch.

Actually, an aftermarket clutch can help to void a transmission warranty... Aftermarket Big Brake Kits can void Wheels and Wheel Bearings (think heat transfer)....
But its all up to the service manager to push it through, so get happy with that guy... Get you oil changed at the dealer, buy tires there, establish a past before you need a big warranty claim... They are more likely to help a loyal customer than the Joe Schmo that just walked in for the first time wanting a new "whatever" part just before the warranty is out...
