Questions

Okay, got some more questions/news... this post won't (hopefully) be as inflammatory as the last.

1) I went to a local speed shop that is working on a project Lancer, and they recommended an oil pressurizer. Hope this doesn't get kicked to the newbie forum, but, what would that do, and is it worth the effort to get? [sidenote: not so trusting of these guy's intelligence becausing they are opting for custom fabbed intakes over a pre fabbed, and upped the exhaust piping up to 2 3/4", which is way too large according to all information I've read about the 2.0L NA engine. So much that they have to use a silencer to get the necessary back pressure to get throttle off the line]

2) HKS is listing several universal turbo kits for use with the Lancer. Check it out. http://wwww.hksusa.com

3) Contacted Borla, and they say they are in R&D on several performance headers for the Lancer, in addition to the Eclipse line they already offer.

4) This is another question: Somebody in a post about the Injen Racing division intake said they found it on the net for 215. Lowest I've found is 250. So... I'm wondering where this 215 intake is.

To answer two of your questions, 2 3/4 is pretty damn big considering our engines, and Adventon is where the polished Injen CAI's are 199 and come out to about 215 with shipping. It's a start, right? The rest I can't really answer. :P

Yeah, I agree with that... the guy I talked to was saying "We have to put the silencer on to get the backpressure and the torque, but, we take it off on the highway and we fly."

In any case, really wondering about the oil pressurizer.

Another thing... Wondering about information about the HKS adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Worth >160?

An oil pressure regulator should only be useful on a turbocharged engine. The stock system should work fine unless they're REALLY planning to toss that project car around. As for 2.75 in. piping, that's a shade to big, the biggest to go on a NA'd engine is 2.5.

Alright... thing that sucks about my area is that you have to search hard for the good speedshops. That one was the best in the area, and they do decent work, but... well, I went up against one of the guys who works there in his modded cavalier [don't get me started], and I won by a carlength not really trying. The good thing about them is that they at least have alot of respect for the Lancer... went in there yesterday and when I said what car I have, the guy behind the counter said "Oh sh*t" in that respectful way.

In any case, thanks for the info on the pressurizer... now about the fuel one... same story as the oil?

Same deal...this was covered before a while back. Someone wanted a fuel pressure regulator...completely unnecessary...

Cool. Now, I'm looking at the MSD Ignition kit... 7.5 amps. Good or bad at 100? And, would I need to upgrade the wiring and sparkplugs... if so, what is recommended?

Explain. Do you mean a full ignition system? Coils? Spark plug cables? Help me out here. If you're going to cover a bunch of stuff just AIM me.

I don't know to much about the Blaster except for the fact that they MAY be piggy back systems, as in attaching to your stock ignition. In any case it probably wouldn't work since the Lancer engine is distributorless. The only appropriate MSD ignition I know to work with wouuld be the MSD DIS-2.

Here is how it reads:
The Blaster Ignition provides a powerful spark at an affordable price. The powerful inductive single spark helps burn the fuel mixture which produces snappy throttle response, easier starts and increased mileage. The Blaster installs easily to points, electronic ignitions or a magnetic pickup distributor like an MSD Pro-Billet model.

Did you not read? It says it attaches to "points" and a "magnetic distributor". It will not work. Those terms, especially the word "points" should indicate to you that it's designed to work with cars with distributors, whereas the Lancer does not have one.

I read it, but did not know if it was exclusive to distributor. That's why I asked. Sorry, but, I'm don't have quite as much knowledge on this subject... so, I defer to those who do. Thanks for the info. Any ideas for minor mods under 100? Married college student... having to pull teeth to get what I already have, plus the CAI.

Under a buck (100) eh? Wow...uhm...lemme think for a bit. You could get some some nice Iridium spark plugs (Denso and NGK come to mind)...uhm...some cosmetic mods (shift knob, pedals, harness pads)...hmm...RoadRace strut bar might be nice...uhm...that's all I can think of right now...I need my list!
