ROAD/RACE- 08 Center Exhaust
a single tip would be dumb, it needs to be dual tips, 3 1/2" would probably be the right size something similar to the picture of the Jeep SRT-8 in the first post as far as angles on the tips... c'mon guys if we dont get more people saying they want it it'll never get made...
rock, brian, maybe you guys could design a full length header from engine to rear bumber and we could run 4 tips out the bacK!!! ok that was excessive, just kidding

well if they did it they could keep the costs down if they skipped making a muffler and go WORKS style with just raw pipes, it owuld hurt performance tough to do a raw split. but actually a canister would work well too
plus we would do a rear lip/exhaust combo, so it would look all finished.
Unless you're pushing turbo/SC-level exhaust, a header-back is going to be a waste on this car. Remember, you're not driving an N/A V8 with a restrictive exhaust. You're driving a little four-banger that relies on backpressure to create torque.
Hell, even when Boe had the faster Lancer in the world, he was using stock downpipe and stock midpipe. As I recall, his post-turbo exhaust just had a test pipe and RRM axleback as the mods.
(The message here is that you don't always need to replace everything.)

i would think that the center exhaust would hang just as low as a dual exhaust would. we could allways hack out a cutout on the other side and then just design the lip kit so that it goes over the little hacked out spot and over the stock spot so that it matches on both sides. even without cutting out a spot i dont think it would be too low as the back is pretty high now and would probably look better a little lower.
i have something just like the WORKS Exhale setup, if you did that with a split pipe right after where the stock exhaust bolts on, run both pipes to center i think that would work! with the split pipe as long as any bends are smooth it should be a nice smooth tone... 2 resonator tips highly recommended will keep the 4500rpm and above crackle down quite a bit... with no muffler i have had no noticeable loss of low end torque and much freer revs over stock
