i was opertaing with the BE for a moment, then replaced them back to OEM i ran with them going to Pep-girls to return them. There down the street from where i work so theres no way i could have done any damage, then i got the DG plugs from kyle due to the dilemma i had, and from there all hell broke loose not right away but within a week 2 i already forgot since its been over 3 months ago
I am eager to see the pictures but without them I just find it hard to beleive that that the plug failed you. I mean I am trying to figure out what could have caused the failure and I cant. You admitted to having the wrong plugs in their before, is it possible, that during the install something could have falling in? could the BE plug have damaged the engine when you installed or uninstalled them.
cheers

thats fine, but do you have the DG plugs that you said failed, I am trying to figure out how the melted. if they struck the head, they wouldnt have melted they would have been in pieces, you refered to one head being damaged, but if this was the case you would have impacts along all heads assuming the plugs were long enough to make contact. I have only seen one other head vs. plug impact and that impact punched the spark plug right out of the engine thread and all.

May 27 update:
1. car is 90% fixed but they are waiting on parts from japan. the total of the repair bill is a whopping 9000
nice lol
I had time booked on the dyno next week, but I may have to push it back by another week or so.
Sorry guys, I know how long you have been waiting.
in the mean time here is an interesting read from Enerpulse. The mention the Lancer and make some claims.

2. I am looking for anyone who has a RRM piggyback CVT kit in Canada, or can be made availible on loan?
I will be entering the next phase of my testing as soon as I get the last final dyno done. I will be contacting RRM to see if they are interested if I cant find anyone who has a unit locally.
3. Finally when I finish my review, I am looking for anyone who has access to a dyno to ratify my results. Need be, I can contact enerpulse they maybe willing to assist with a fresh pair of plugs. If not, I will send my plugs.

Another note that I wanted to stress for those people out there who have or own these plugs. Some have brought to my attention here and there that the plug they had cracked. My number one question was, were you doing a hot swap or multiple gap resizing? (engine still hot) thats your answer. temp plays a part in the integrity of a plug like this. So if you are handling it in the future, just be very careful. I have done about 10 swaps, all warm or cold.
These are not the tried tested and true NGK or DENSO plugs. this is a new plug, a new manufacturer. over time they will revise their design and the failure rate will decrease. Its like this in any market place. the newest kid on the plug will have the most amount of problems as they break into the business.
Cheers

evosoul thank you for your efforts in bringing this info to us. I'm planning to install a set of pulseplugs on my leased 2008 ES CVT Lancer soon.
Thank you

when i get the car back. I will see if i can complete my trials
I'm so glad I found this thread, I've been looking around for pulsar benefits for the CVT. I currently run a bone stock GTS and was looking for ways to improve my gas mileage, and hopefully gain some torque.
call me crazy but I run on chevron 93 octane and mobil1 synt, because I sometimes like to floor it when going home >.>... and I don't feel secure enough to use anything other than that.
But even still, on average I get about 310 miles for a 13gl. fill up, so a 12% fuel economy gain is a welcome sight.
Btw, If I want to have a faster accelerationr w/o sacrificing too much of the fuel economy, what would be my best option?

Dude, you're wasting your money running 93 octane on this car. You will not gain any performance with it. These were made for regular unleaded. If you decide to turbo then maybe it would be a good idea, but for now on a bone stock, not a good idea. Save some money
And 3$ per tank adds up over a year. Anyways, a local tuner tested these plugs and sure enough, they didn't show any significant gains. He now suspects that the supposed power increases are simply the result of changes to timing.
