ZEX nitrous kit

I have a friend with a zex dry kit who is looking to sell it to me cheap... I have some concerns, can this motor handle in the 08 lancer handle lets say a 75 shot on the drag strip or is it going to blow the head through the hood the first time i spray? i am not an overly abusive driver anymore but once every couple of months i have been going out to the track and I have been too embarrassed to race because i have never had a 16 +- .1 sec car... i would like to have a little fun with it

am i being crazy or is this reasonable to do on a mitsu motor??? any comments good or bad are welcome, and anyone who has already installed a bottle on there car please speak up!!!!

you can always try and tell us. Isn't 75 too much on a stock motor, try 50 maybe.

No dry kit for stock cars with no stand alone ECU . Stay away from that , you are way better off with a wet kit .

which ever way you decide to go make sure you do it right, get the right spark plugs, get an air/fuel gauge dont take the easy way cause thats when bad stuff happens

No one knows the limitation of the 08 lancer in regards to nitrous. If you're going to do it, do it right. Dry kits are hell on a motor so at least upgrade to a wet kit and take it easy, start with say a 50 shot.

i have a nitrous express dry kit i n my car. runs excellent, i only have a 50 shot in it right now, really dont wanna test my car with a 75, i think its a lil to much, but then again i thought 50 would blow it. i only used it during the warms months really. its a fun toy to have.

You are definitely fine with a low hp dry kit like 50-75 shot. Dry kits are fine on motors as long as the HP stays low enough for the stock fuel pump to feed. You'll have to step up to wet (or upgrade your fuel pump and stay dry) if you want to push 75hp.

I'd be real interested to see how this car performs at the strip with a 75 shot. I haven't purchased a lancer yet but I love the body and figured since its so cheap it'll be a fun second car to have and beat up on the track.

I disagree, I don't think a dry shot is a good idea period. The stock system is not made to be able to compensate for nitrous (mitsubishi didn't design the MAF to be able to read it) and thus I doubt you'll get the correct AF ratio even with a shot as small as 50. It might not be enough to blow a motor instantly but it's certainly enough to cause unnecessary wear.

nitrous will if they can prove it caused a drastic problem to your engine (which it eventually will) , NOS is a brand...
