Piston/Rod Combo
RPW could hook you up, although you will have to go through the guys at Vision Imports (visionimports.com). RPW has been doing Mitsu's for years and will be able to get you pretty much whatever you want. You can check out RPW at www.rpw.com.au.
Re: Pison/Rod Combo
i'm assuming you're replacing the weakest link; the piston.
is the rod just as weak and what about the crank? can the crank handle 200+ HP?

The crank can handle over 200 no prob. The pistons are definitely weak, go forged and think about coating the tops and skirts too (it is worth the small investment). The rods are good to about 9 psi maybe a little more. Too much more and shot peening would be a good idea. If you want to run a lot of boost, then you need to get some forged rods or something similar.
yep i was just stating that the next inline after the piston, rod, crank is the head gasket. the i also think head bolts are a potential point of failure. funny side note is the 2002 are stronger headbolts than the 2003 ones.

what about valves? i'm probably going to aim for high 200's or low 300's. to do this the parts i need to upgrade to handle this kind of power are :
rods
pistons
head gasket
head bolts
valves?
anything else like fuel pump, oil pump, motor mounts, tranny?

i just talked to someone locally who worked at a performance ship as a mechanic and said that as long as you have the engine tuned right and it's not detonating, you don't have to re-inforce the internals unless you go up to 400+ HP.

im planning to go up to low 300's. soon, ill be upgrading the internals. (camshaft, camgear, valve springs) then ill port and polish my head. also get RPW custom pistons (8.6:1). and shoot and peen my rods. i think its all ill need for that much power. but i just want to make sure. any more ideas?
