electric exhaust cut off or exhaust

hey i have a question ok so i want a exhaust for my car and dont know what to get that i will not get pulled over for and i just came across the electric exhaust cut off and was thinking if it would be a good idea to get this instead of a AB exhaust. that way i could have it load like i want it to be but not all the time. how much power would i lose from this? and do u guys think its a good idea? thanks

As long as you do it after the catalytic converter you should be fine. Our cars are N/A so they need some back pressure. I don't think that our cars have been tested enough to find out if the cats really do provide enough back pressure that would allow you to get rid of the muffler completely to produce optimal performance.

Someone else may have done testing on it but I havn't really read anything yet.

Do not do it...

as much as Im against the works AB "exhaust" (which basically is a muffler delete kit) i will be against this... you NEED back pressure... NA cars need it, FI cars dont.

just to give you an example... i got rid of the muffler in my car (basically what you are doing) and my best run at the track was 17.1 @ 81mph

I weighed the current exhasut and it was exactly 12 pounds.. so not even the excuse of "weight reduction" is valid here......\

Dont do it

yes it would pretty much be a very expensive AB exhuast as long as you mount it after the CAT.
