obx is a company. a bad one like bomz and they basically make knock off items. I dunno what B5 is but its just the muffler that is made by obx and i guess the rest of the piping is made by muffler tech. thats just my guess.

Question

hey i read a minor complaint from somebody that it melted a little bit of their bumper is that true? ... i mean it's not going to stop me from getting it just from putting it on the second i get it so i can wait and take it to a pipe shop and have them adjust it properly

i hate obx. i wouldn't trust anything that company makes. never respond to emails, bad reviews for other products.

i'm pretty sure all mufflertech does is weld some pipe on the obx muffler, and ship it to you.

go with another brand. we'll all be better off if you support a more reputable company.

yeah you can get the muffler tech axel back to cat back pipes (for like $75 ) and grab the RRM axel back and have a full cat back system.

I have the catback, I had some fitment issues, also, my muffler hangs kind of low, I think it's because it is made for the OZ edition, maybe I should get the lower rear lip to make it look nice. But it sounds good, I give it a 7.

Go with the Greddy Evo exhaust. I love it. Direct Bolt on and not whiney or too loud. Nice gains as well.

this is not as true or easy as it might sound. i bought the midpipes from mufflertech off ebay to go with my magnaflow from rrm that i already had. go to bolt it up and i realize that mufflertech has made the flange between the midpipes and the muffler like 3 inches too big, so the only way to secure it was to shear the bolts through the two flanges any way i could, resulting in a high pitched gasket noise at practically every rmp range. now i have to either buy the greddy full catback or get the rmr with custom flanges made.

well i got my axle back and put it on it does take a little tweaking to get it right and i took it to a muffler shop the next day to get it centered and keep it from melting my rear oz skirt anymore which cost all of $20 but it sounds nice w/ or w/out the silencer which i only take off when i'm going to car meets or out on the town on the weekend but i will be replacing the muffler with something other than the obx muffler but for now its just fine by me
