Am I abusing my Lancer?

I've been driving my Lancer for a week now, and have about 250 miles on it. Gave it a car wash today. I chirped pretty good in 2nd last night. I definitely noticed some extra speed pulling in the engine. But after 250 miles?! No way. I need prolly 1K right? Cause if this car is THIS quick in 1st and 2nd, then after 1K it'll be a nice little rice rocket.
I haven't revved passed 3 when just driving on the streets going from point A to B. I had a little fun on the highways and also noticed that the aerodynamics is pretty weak.
I redlined it a few times, and left a 30ft. peel-mark in front of my house. It seems to be breaking in, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna need more mileage to prevent the engine from prematurely gaining more speed. Cause it'll screw it up right?
Any advice as to mileage good for a break-in?
Any comments on how I should drive to keep it okay?
Any comments on anything?!
PLZ gimme ur 2 cents.

Personally, what the hell are you doing burnouts for with a brand new tranny? There's a difference between breaking it in and breaking it. But hey, that's what warranties are for I suppose...

Yes that's abuse, and I do it too..only with 14,000 miles. Common sense should tell you what not to do to the car. I didn't take mine over 3grand until it had 1100 miles. should be sufficient.

u should mess around with your car when it gets a little older, so 4 now i suggest u try "dangerous manuevers" with someone else's car ( so u get aftermarket parts ). and u should also try 2 avoid residental areas cause people will freak out when hey hear the tires screeching and there is not enough room 4 recovery.

well the manual says the break in period is like less then 500 if not 500...so i think its all good... they just say break in the engine so the engine life is longer... ive even heard that breaking into an engine is just rumors and not even nessesary... not saying that you should push your car 24/7 but... breaking it in...is just so there would be less accidents with newer cars...
