Dual Magnaflow
Dual Magnaflow
I am currently working for a muffler shop, desiging and maintaining their web site. I let him know the market of the lancer and he's using my lancer as a jib to make a new line. After seeing my muffler he's developing something about the same price as the RRM (which i purchased) using magnaflow but it will come with the whole CAT-back. If there is anyone interested in getting new exuast let me know. Im lookin at a possibility of dual exhuast and a friend of mine is designing a urethane skirt to suppor both of the tips. Im just a huge fan of the symetrical look and the aggressivenss of a dual exhuast system. I will post pics tomarrow night if it gets done. he is a bit skeptical about the market for the exaust he's designing, so let me knwo if you might be interested. Ill keep you posted on ym experience.
exhaust
i would be willing to order one, granted it is not dual exhaust. i dont want to have to buy anymore body parts, i just got my xenon kit and i am gonna have it put on next week. also i would have to see a pic and i would definately want to know the price.
i have been waiting for RRM's exhaust, but still so word on that. hey guys is it ready yet. i want to keep everything the same on this car not one made up of different parts. let me know. PLEAAAAAAASE

If you get the dual, you'll have to get tunable mufflers, or add a restrictor in order to get any torque. A speed shop in my area upped the piping on a single to 2 3/4", and they had to put on a tunable because the lack of backflow caused a complete lack of torque, and off the line power. A dual exhaust would most definitely destroy any amount of back pressure you could have.
Secondly, consider the fact that there is something of a debate about the use of non-true dual exhausts (pretty much everything less than a V8 uses a non-true) on cars not meant to use them. Lack of backpressure, and then the fact that no one knows the kind of resonation the car would get. Of course, this all depends one where you split the pipe to go into the two mufflers.
Personally, I have a friend thinking about doing a similar custom by getting the rear bumper filled in, and get some custom sideskirts inorder to have the exhaust come out just before the rear tires [before the flames commence, I don't like the idea either]. So, the idea of duals hasn't been new to me, but definitely, you ought to look at some charts about what this engine can handle. I upped mine to the 2 1/4", and lacking the injen (ordered and on the way), I definitely lost some off the line torque.
I know I took the long way to say it, but, duals do have that great symmetry, which I like alot, but, the fact is that the exhaust doesn't work for all cars. And, like I said in the beginning, you would most likely have to throw in a restrictor or utilize two tunable mufflers. But, to each their own. Good luck with it.
