Does any one know the pipe diameter of theexaust ofter the axle back flange. I think I'm going to put a flowmaster on my GTS. I have a welder and plan on making my own axle back exaust. Thanks

 

Pretty sure its 2.25 inches.

flowmaster got rated very poorly

 

Where did you see that Flowmaster was rated poorly? I have had a 40 Series on my Lancer since it was 3 months old, and have had not 1 issue with it. Would really like to see the data on the poor performance!

 

will flomaster give you a deep tone or high?

 

The tone from the Flowmaster is deep and not ricey. When they cut the original muffler off, the Lancer is not much louder then with it on. The Flowmaster just seems to increase the sound to a low rumble rather then make it sound like a raspy Honda Civic that everyone else sounds like. The muffler shop actually held on the different mufflers to give me a idea of the sound, and I was happiest with the sound of the Flowmaster. I also listened to the Magnaflow which was not loud enough "too insulated" , and also just a custom turbo muffler which was too ricey.
