Someone Must Know!!!Ecu Help

wanted to know if anyone knew if the Pinouts For a 94 ECU and a 93 Ecu were the same...anyone know!!???

I'm about to swap out my 4g93 in place of the 94 but i thinking of running the motor on the 97 G93 Ecu and for all you that dont know its got( i believe a 6900 Rev LImiter) no speed governor, and overall is a better ecu for modification...and to me would seems would be possible an equal mod as the RRM ECU based on its better Setup...i used to run my car stock with the 2000 Auto trans and swaped to manual and the 97 MAF sensor ECu etc...now i'm bout to put this 94 in but wanted to know if anyone knew if the Pinouts For a 94 ECU and a 93 Ecu were the same...anyone know!!???Thanks all

-Adam

Flip through that and get a feel for Lancer harnesses and run that against 'rage ones. AP Parts had a decent little diagram that outlined the 'rage pins. As far as it being a better ECU, I really doubt that since any maps, timing, etc, are built up around a smaller engine. The rev limiter is pretty inconsequential since you won't be building power past 5500~ anyways. Same with the speed governor since there's no local autobahn either.

ok so you also dont think it can run the 94? looking at that post looks like the pinouts and all are the same...also reading looks like someone said something about there only being 3 wiring harness's between 95-03 4cyl cars...one for manual trans, auto trans, etc... is that true?

it seems that in the case of the lancer there are 2 ecus: one for auto and one for manual. i don't think anyone has tried a g93 ecu, but there's always that rumor that the ecu from the 6g72(?) engine (montero 3.0L) have been swapped into 'rages. and if it's true, it's possible the g93 ecu would work with the g94.

actually there are 4 different ECU's for the Lancer (to be technically correct).

1 Manual Trans - California Tune
1 Manual Trans - Every where else
1 Auto Trans - California Tune
1 Auto Trans - Ever where else

yea i thot that since people were interchanging the montero ecu that i could do the same with mine...but i wanted to be more sure before i did it...i have all the components i need for the swap minus the ecu...and i also wanted to find out if the pinnouts were the same becuase i wanted to use my same wiring harness since from what i've compared all the sensors are the same...but then again i may as well swap the harness and RRM ecu in at the same time if i was going to have to do that...other than those to parts...i'm ready to swap it...

but there wouldnt be the same gain with my 97 ecu as with the Reflashed RRM NA ecu would there...? i guess i would be better off waiting till i got the RRM and then swaping it in with everything at once... just that so much between the 2 cars are identical that i thot the mirage ecu would run also... u guys think i should just hold off till i get that other stuff or just put the motor in and hope it runs good? thanks all

Adam, I'd really just stick with the G94 ECU as I mentioned. It may very well run the 2.0L but you probably wouldn't even be making as much power as a stock Lancer would be. Give it time, get the appropriate ECU and go from there. Also, with the Road Race ECU, you need to have a core unit to exchange. There MAY be a possibility about reflashing the 1.8L ECU to the 2.0L reflash specs but you'd have to do some really in depth research with Road Race and possibly loan them an ECU if they can't get a test dummy. Then again, with RRM offering Mirage parts now, it may not be that hard.
