Do you plan to use only pump gas or run alcohol/meth as well?

Well don't forget about a good tune though but I've seen members here sit around 17-20 psi... I've only heard of one other lancer that went around 22+ and he's using alky injection. Said he wasn't sure if it was needed but it helps...

Call them up... From the guys I've seen run high boost like that, they've used a stand alone engine management system or something like the greddy emanage ultimate...

my car has 93k miles on it and i have a CBE magnaflow, and the AEM CAI. would it be worth it to buy the RRM turbo kit and run like 5psi or what not. would it be a good investment and just swap the turbo when i swap the motor or would it be better to wait and know im not gunna blow a head gasket or blow the rings?

Well I'm finishing up a custom 16g kit(came up a 2-3grand cheaper than RRM's kit) and I have 143k on the motor/trans... I'm going to put it on and hope it lasts until I can build the motor next year...

Why not buy a new motor, build it up and then swap it in?

That's my plan but I need money to buy a new motor If I can find one, which is a bit harder around here than what it sounds, I'd do that...

^well i think you will be fine at no more than 6 or 7 psi as long as you have taken care of your motor for those 143k miles. i.e. changed oil as per specs.

I agree, if you've taken good care of the motor for all those miles, a turbo shouldn't give it any problems on low boost. I would say if you don't mind the hassle of installing the turbo kit twice, put it on this motor at around 5-7 psi, then switch it over to the new motor when it's ready. It will be such a big difference from an intake and exhaust, you probably wouldn't want to ever drive a non turbo lancer again.

i agree... if you dont mind double the work, but after the first install it should be easy if you were to do it again.

I'm planning on buying a used (low mile) 4g94 and port it myself (head, intake mani, and throttle body) then get the forged rods and pistons. That should be done by next summer and then swap it and go turbo by next winter!
Can't wait!
