I actually have a question about the rrm v2 sri. I installed mine, it was very simple. For the first week it seemed really loud, now i dont know if I have just gotten used to the sound or what but it seems to be much more quiet. When i hit 3,000 Rpms it roars but not much sound at 2750 rpms and once its over 4,000 it not very loud either. Its not a big deal at all i still love it, just wondering if this is normal or if it should be louder?

thanks guys

OUr cuopler is soft enough to fit both sizes without strain on the reinforced rubber.

So I will see next summer if the cause of the bog was the RRM SRI or simply the missing ECU reset.
Hey ROCK, I'm getting that low RPM bog again this summer with the SRI... Any idea what it could be? The MAF sensor plate seems a bit weird as I needed to put a small washer between the MAF and the plate to prevent the sensor from cracking, but I don't think something small like this would cause a problem since the MAF is still sealed up, at least, I think it should be...

Any idea?

Thanks!

We have only heard this from guys who had a minor issue when they installed. Email me a picture or 2 at my email rob@roadracemotorsports.com Maybe I will spot something. Doubt it but worth a try.

lol when i waas tightenin my MAF down i herd a crack or two...i kind of accepted the bog as how it is..based on the design of the motor + the intake itself...only thing nowadays is i get MASSIVE bog + choke when the A/C is on...im not gonna blame the intake for that tho

Same here with the crack upon tightening. As soon as I heard the first one I checked and saw that there was a gap between the MAF and the plate on the SRI, so to avoid breaking the MAF sensor, I installed a small washer in between the two.

I will go outside and take couple pics and send them to you Rob. Hopefully you will be able to spot something.

I wonder if anyone else got some cracking, lol, I'm kinda happy to see someone else having the same thing as me! As well as the same cracking!

Rob, i'll wait for tomorrow to send you the pics. I decided to try and remove the washer I added to see if it would make a difference (the washer was a bit too thick and the MAF was slightly angled).

So I will test out the car tomorrow and see if anything changed. I doubt it, but I'm kinda hoping!

I'll let you know the results tomorrow...

i dont think we even need to tighten those botls too much..as long as the surfaces are flush and its relatively rtight should be good..cuz the O-ring should really be doing most of the job of sealing...as long as ur not using the stock O-ring

Well, it seems to have made a small improvement... There's still a bog but I think less than before, driveability also seems better... Might just be in my head though.

Anyway, i'll continue to try for couple days before deciding... I might remove it just to test it out.

Thanks Rock!

I'll see when I fill up next. But It wasn't really good from what I saw on the couple last fills, wasn't even able to get 10L/100km... dunno what this converts to in MPG.

I installed the RRM SRI for the 2.4L GTS (CVT), and also noticed a cracking sound when tightening the MAF sensor (I will look today to see if I notce an actual crack anywhere). It doesn't happen all that often but every now and then I feel like my engine is bogging a little. I do not know if that is just an illusion created by the fact that my engine sounds much louder due to the SRI even though my car still moving at about the same speed, or if my engine is indeed bogging down for real.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I felt the same bog when I had it on my GTS (2.4L). I was not the only one to feel this and you are not alone. It seems like the RRM intake is ok for the 2.0L engine but not optimized for the 2.4L engine thus causing all sorts of bogging problems.

Last summer, I sold my RRM intake and bought the Injen specially made for the 2.4L engine, and I'm not getting any bogs whatsoever!
