I am plannin on just a simple 7 psi, I have read people doing 10 on here, with a good tune. But to me that seems pushing it. After upgrading rods you should be good to about 12-13 psi, then pistons for more around 15. I would be scared for anything over that. That's just what I have gathered from reading alot of threads on here, there is a whole lot of info, if you have the time, search around, and read alot.
What kinda turbo kit you have in mind?

I'm running 10 on stock internals and a tune. The pistons and rods pretty much go at 13-14psi. With rods and pistons you can hold 15-20 with a tune.

im running 10 psi also, currently working on the tune with ecuflash. i've been tuning since yesterday and today doing so many pulls and it has held up so far.

i accidentally increased my MBC too much and i hit 15-16 psi and it pulled pretty hard, but as soon as i saw my gauge i let off. i was logging and i got 34 counts of knock at 4300-4400

I'll be doing between 8-10 psi until I can do some motor work, considering I'm boosting with about 145,000 miles on my motor

Please search, how much boost the car can handle is dependent on what turbo you're using as well as other factors like support mods. Generally speaking, 7 PSI is a safe bet while 10 is pushing it. Some people start to notice signs of death with 10 PSI while others (as indicated in this thread) are completely fine.

i agree i would not run more than 7psi. especially you have to think about boost creep etc. i have a friends thats set on 7psi and its actually perfect IMO because in cold weathers he spikes up to 10 psi. i would do 8 at the most but if you wanna be safe just do 8.

i am using mitsulogger.

i have 0 counts of knock at 10 psi, as long as you do back to back pulls and get consistent 0 counts of knock, i dont see why the motor can not take that.

Of course, no matter what you want to start low just to be safe. You never know what could go wrong.
