mivec head
mivec head
I have been told that there is a conversion you can do with our US lancer 4g94 by taking a 4g92mivec head and swaping it with ours. RPW told me this, but when I told them that I had a 4g92mivec engine and asked what I could do to either let them do the conversion or how to go about doing it myself they broke off talking to me all together. If any one from rpw reads this I would like to tell them " I would love to spend money with your company!" lol I mean jeewiz how else can I put it. I am just wondering if any of you techs in here are in the know with rpw on how its done. I am guessing that I am going to have to purchase a stand alone management system in order to do it simply because our ecu's dont have mivec or "vtech" so the mivec would never "kick" in without one. As for my engine I would like to get pistons, rods, bearings, ect basically build a tank of a shortblock. Let me know what you think, just whatever you do don't mention the stupid 2.0 V6 mivec as a substitute teacher. Who wants that! Makes things so crammed in there...no room for turbo and stuff
See, if you want to build that bulletproof shortblock and turbo, then why use the MIVEC engine? You're gonna have to change its compression anyway unless you plan on running only low amounts of boost. If I was gonna make a MIVEC 4 banger faster, I'd play to its current strengths and go Honda style on that thing (sky limit RPM's, high compression, hot cams etc.). If you are set on boosting, keep your 4G94 and the couple of G's you'd spend getting, installing, and maintaining a non-USDM motor, and build up the 4G94.

6a12 suck my .... oh come on who wants a V6 lol. This is the total debate for me. If I want, I have a second gen mivec head sitting in my garage and I love mivec or "vtec" I don't care either way turbo or mivec doesn't matter, but I figured sense I already have the mivec head why not try to do something with it. I think wonderful things could come from this swap. People in Ausie country have done the swap and talk of 200hp with 8000 redline. If I do go turbo I do want a redline of about 8000 I mean jeewiz you need it, so just let me know what you guys think as far as my wants are conserned
i think you are onto something good, however the tech to do this swap is kinda limited in the states as not many people are willing to try. You would have the best luck by talking to the aussies (as much as i hate admitting it as Pete may find this) but in this case they know what they are doing as they have had the car longer.
I have looked everything over real hard, seeing I have done many honda swaps in the past, I know what to look for, and I don't see why it wouldn't work. The problem is going to be the ecu. I think I am going to have to buy a stand alone or it isn't going to work. Probably what I should be asking is: What should I do? mivec swap or turbo the **** out of it
