how to get lowend back

i have searched and all i can find is to put my cat back in... well here is my problem. i installed an aem cai, buschur racing downpipe, and a buschur cat back with the stock cat still in. im the type of person that shifts at 3 grand every gear pretty much and i dont beat my car at all. so all i want is some low end back. what could i do? i put the stock intake back in tonight and i feel a little bit more back but if i were to cut out the down pipe put the stock back in and put my aem back on would i still have alot of low end loss. i would go and try it, but when i got my exhuast adjusted for fitment the mechanic put it on so tight my impact wrench wont take it off. so any ideas or imput anyone??

definatly put your intake back on... more then likely you are losing power all the way through the band with it off and you just think you are gaining it back. with it off you are letting everything exit easier losing even more back pressure b/c you are not bringing extra in anymore. im probably wrong and someone will correct me in a moment.

THATS PRETTY FUNNY 03RALLY; HOWEVER, MY BEST ADVICE TO THE QUESTION ABOVE IS TO STOP DOING MODIFYING YOUR CAR. WHATS THE POINT IF YOUR GOING TO SHIFT @ 3

Ummm... you shift at 3000? That's not even really into the power band is it? Forget mods altogether, you've got to shift right. That's just stressing your engine. Under 3K is fine for cruising, but if you're accelerating and wanting to have some power, at least go up to 4K.

you're right 03rallylancer. but ssabII, i suggest you put your intake back on. the intake increases your torque numbers, whereas your catback increases your hp numbers.. [im right arent i?]; thus bringing up your low end power with it on. if u want to get back the low end performance back on your car, the best you could do is take off your catback or shift past 3k!! jk. hell, i have an automatic and i dont even let go of the throttle, so that it'll shift gears itself, til i pass 4k.. and this is city driving..

The intake will increase the lowend, correct. The catback increases mid-high, at the sacrifice of low. Right now you're letting air get out faster than it can come in, thus the loss of low end and gain up top.

Only other breather option outside of an intake to get lowend back is a throttle body or reflashed ecu/piggyback. The throttle body is straightforward, since you'll be allowing more air in. The reflash/piggyback will hopefully net you more lowend since it'll help with the air/fuel curve.

With my setup for example, I can increase or decrease the a/f ratio from say 500 rpms up to 3000 rpms (using your shift point) to help level off any dips in the curve.

I REALIZE MY CAPITAL LETTERS ARE OFFENDING PEOPLE. LIKE HAVING A SUNROOF IN A RALLY BRED CAR OFFENDS ME; HOWEVER, LIKE I TOLD SOME MODERATOR EARLY MONDAY, AS LONG AS I AM AT WORK I WILL BE IN CAPS. NOT ONLY THAT BUT THEY ARE ONLY LETTERS. HAVE FUN WITH YOUR SUNROOF.

Start putting your foot in it. But seriously, Check out thread about our ECU. It does a good job compensating for loss of torque due do some other mods.

Well, if you're talking about making the car last longer, then don't overstress the engine by keeping it out of the powerband. The powerband is the area the engine is operating at peak efficiency. It's the best place for an engine to be running.
