i wanna know how much it would run me if i were to get my greddy professionally installed by meineke, pep boys, r&s, etc.. coz its gonna be raining here for the next week or so and i wont be able to install it, for i have no garage to put it in while installing. the thing is, i want to put it on right away because first of all, this damn box is taking way TOO much space in my room; secondly, u dont know how anxious i am to hear it; and thirdly, i just want the damn thing on. 
so any numbers will do, but if u got estimates from specific locales, thats even better. thanks once again ppoL

they were gonna charge me 160 for custom catback piping and 60 to weld a muffler so i would say 60. something like that cause they might have to weld, but i doubt it. Call around and just say "can i get a quote for a catback install on my blah blah lancer" you know, its pretty easy and should take roughly an hour depending on amount of customers.

There's no way your going to put that on yourself without some serious jacks and air tools. I speak from experience....try jacking up a lowered OZ...its not the lowered part that kills you, it's the compression of the springs....the actually car doesn't lift until the end of the jack, the majority of the jacking is decompressing the wheel.
Second the bolts securing the stock exhaust on are knuckle-breakers....you won't get them off no matter how hard you pull, even if your car is new. You're more likely to knock the car off the jacks and crush yourself than to get the bolt loose.
Finally you won't have much space under the car, so you'll probably scratch up your new exhaust on the pavement and there will probably be problems with gaps and fitament since you can't adjust it without cramming yourself into some absurd space.
Spend the $50 and have it done properly...god knows you spent alot on it, so why **** it up being a do-it-yourselfer....leave stuff like this to the pro's.

I put mine on last week. Only took me and a couple buddies a couple hours. The hardest part was the three bolts that hold the muffler section to the mid pipe on the stock exhaust. After screwing around with one forever, we finally said screw it and used a sawzall and just cut it off. Everything else was simple. But, it shouldn't cost more than $50 or so to just have it put on. It probably won't even take the mechanic much more than a half hour if that.
well i went to 3 local shops today.. one quoted me for 90 bucks, another quoted me 85 [its pretty ironic coz they're called 'discount muffler'.. go figure].. the shop that gave me the cheapest quote was $70. and that was the first one i went to.. so i guess im gonna just get it done for $70 coz its the closest one to me.. i dont wanna be lugging around big *** pipes for far distances. and it seems like they're gonna do a really good job coz they're an import shop, so i figure they're more familiar with the equipment. they said they'll install the short ram for free too, so im pretty happy i dont have to do anything! 
I_love_spool....I installed my GReddy myself w/o any impact wrenches...just a 1/4" drive socket wrench and it came off in a couple of seconds...My car only had about 15000 miles on it...I'm not trying to blast you or anything, I just want to make sure people know that sometimes thoes infamous bolts aren't that hard to get off dependent of where and how much you drive. But majestic...I would suggest that you ask one of your buddies with a garage if you could use if for an hour or so...just trying to save you some money and you will appreciate the exhaust a hell of a lot more if you install it yourself. Just a thought though it your money and your car.
ya, its really easy and if your cars gonna fall off of jack stands onto u , your using them wrong or you went 2 cheap on em spend money on a good jack and jack stands make life 100x easier
