There are people that know people and sometimes people let the cat outta the bag......on Forums.

For instance:

I know someone on these boards that know about what WORKS is up to. So sometimes you'll hear about what kinda stuff they have going on....on forums

I know someone that's in the know of what RRM is up to. So you'll end up hearing/seeing what that shop might be up to as well....on forums

Then you have guys that work as suppliers for Injen and Fidanza, and somtimes Injen and Fidanza don't have the time to make posts in every forum people visit so they let their distributors know about stuff they're producing.....on forums.

It's alot to look at believe me, but if you REALLY REALLY wanna know what's going on, you'll frequent forums.

Magazines for our Lancer (say like Sport Compact Car or Super Street) can really give a ***** less about our little lancer.

Im sure there are other ways to stay "current" on what's going on with our lancer but nothing beats forums. IMO

Searching on the forums, research, reasearch, research, and getting to know people is your only bet. There is no free rides. You wanna be in the know, its gonna take work.

I spend thousands of dollars with some companies and I am still the last to know stuff at times. Other times I get stuff that no one else will have for months, or will ever have. Its taken me 3 years to learn I dont know anyone or anything.

But having lots of cash will get you a jump start. Vendors will give knowledge to good customers.

and to add to that I recently ran into a guy that owned a lancer but had no clue they made so many parts for our lancer. a days-worth of glancing at any given Lancer Forum and now a person's knowledge of what works, what doesnt', what fails, what blows up, what looks funny etc....can now be answered.

There are a few projects that are trying to get off the ground, but its the economy that is holding everything back. no money, everyone is letting go of people right now. if your based in Cali , I think its the worst there , 10% unemployment, with a number that could be potentially higher.

Good news is , there are more things coming for the lancer that i know about, some outta japan, and some from some boys here at home.

I have projects I want to approach WORKs with as well since they dable in the ECU reprograming stuff.

and I still need a solutions provider for a boost project. so there isnt a shortage of ideas out there, I am sure lots of companies want to do stuff... just need the capital to catch up.

There are a bunch of things in the works right now. We try our best to be on top of any new products. And i spend most of my time researching new stuff. We do have a couple of "top secret" projects in the works with one of our manufacturers, and we will announce when that stuff is available

also, as far as the fidanza thing goes. That was just a fairly typical example of what happens in this market. A lot of people get on board and say they will buy a product, then when it comes time to, everyone backs out.
This was the case with Fidanza, they asked us to get 10 buyers, which we thought we had. but when payment time came up, everyone backed out and Fidanza gave up on the project
