intake manifold upgrade?

I have been looking into getting a upgraded intake manifold my my lancer and i ran accross the thead https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...m-4g94-im.html were they are comparing 4g93 manifold to rrm ported 4g94 manifold. I look threre the thread and did not find any number's to prove it was better does anyone have dyno pulls of it before the 4g93 and after. does it cut low-end torque if so how much also how much does it help out top end side of the powerband ? dyno's can be on a stock 4g94 or ported i do not care. Are any aftermarket Companies currently making a intake and i dont mean just a port job other then rpw 1045 $ one? if so please let me know because i have been lookind and cannot find any. rp Any info on this would be helpful.

He went from an RRM ported to the ported 4g93.

Design wise, the 4g93 has a huge plenum chamber and what appear to be more efficient runners (straight into the block instead of taking a S curve up to it as the 4g94)
The larger plenium is better for a turbo car and the shorter runners will move the powerband to the right which will give more low end traction and more overall power up top. Deff a cheap and appears to be a promising upgrade for a turbo lancer.

I have one installed and noticed quite a lil kick after it was on. I'd recommend it over the RRM one.

The RPW one is in AUD and not USD, so it's actually less than 1k

I have one in my junk pile and it's on my long todo list. There is a fair amount of math and simulation to do in order to redesign an intake manifold so I doubt I'll be able to develop one quickly. It is on the list though.

No, not really. Any other useful things are pretty much the same. You can try for a camshaft if you want.

I've been wanting the camshaft as well, but I've heard so many different things about customizing that needs to be done. I'm not sure which is true, plug and play or customize.

Does it matter if the car is auto or manual? is the camshaft the same i would think it is but i want to make sure. Also what would happen if i installed the 4g93 intake 275 injectors and injen intake 2.5 exhaust and a 4g93 camshaft do you think i would be on without a tune?

I think the manual cam is better from the mirage, I'm not 100% on it but I'm pretty sure...

If I recall the cams are different between auto and standard. The one for standard trans has a higher power band, as well as a higher peak torque. The auto cam for the Mirage is closer to our stock 4g94 cam.

manual cam from a mirage should be a direct plug and play. And is about equivalent to a stage 1 aftermarket cam.

pick up the valve springs to, i believe they are a little better than the ones in the 4G94. I could be wrong on that though

Both cams are the same, auto and manual.. The 97 camshaft came with adjustbale lifters/rockers. 98+ came with hydrolic lifters/rockers. The 98+ is a direct swap for all lancers, if you get a 97 camshaft you might need to use the adjustble rockers/lifters.
