Questions on Fujita Intakes

I have a 2009 Lancer GTS and want to do a few mods starting with a short ram intake.
My Lancer is automatic.
I am interested in the Fujita SRI, but their web site only shows for an 2008 2.0L automatic. Will this fit the 2009 2.4L automatic?

I probably will just call Fujita and ask, but thought I ask here first.

Another question concerns with the absence of a heat shield. Considering where the filter is located from the engine, will the lack of a heat shield on the Fujita SRI make a difference?

I thought about the K&N Typhoon SRI for my lancer, but it is much more expensive

I've only heard bad things about the Fujita SRI--Like CEL's.

If you're concerned about the heat, have you looked into getting a CAI instead?

There seems to have been reports in the past with Fujita setting off CELs, but I also read in other places of many Fujita owners who have no problems and love their Fujita SRI in their new Lancers. Perhaps Fujita has an improved model out now?
I also read that many people unhook their battery to reset everything and reset the ECU after installing any new intake and this solves many problems.

I'll look more into it. I still may re-consider the K&N then.

My concern about the heat is not so that I would need to get a CAI. but just a general question asking if there is really a huge difference in performance between SRIs with heat shields and those without.

Why are people still considering the fujita intake? They came out with 3 revisions and all 3 still produce a cel. The only people that were able to fix them had to heavily modify it, a good product should work right out of the box. It's clear they didn't do enough R&D for them to have so many problems. I would stick with the RRM intake, K&N intake, or get a CAI (but CAI are expensive)

With All intakes you should reset your battery, even with the battery reset the Fujita intake is still heaving problems. The heat shield will give you better top end power and torque, no heat shield is supposed to be better throttle response. I'd go with a heat shield tho or a CAI

Exactly what i was thinking.

Fujita & lancer should never be said in the same sentence ever again. i think fujita should just move on and no longer make any intake for any lancer.

but seriously go with RRM, or k&n if you dont want a CAI.

This is all interesting. This is the only car forum I read through that bad mouths Fujita intakes. Most other forums say Fujita is decent and recommended over other brands such as AEM and INJEN which is often compared to Fujita as Fujita's owner also was a co-founder of INJEN. Nobody had reported any recent problems with Fujita except for here, which I even question if anyone here has even bought a Fujita intake lately and are just prejudice against that brand.

Something tells me that everything spoken here is Road Race Motorsports and K&N..... Site sponsors??

I said k&n because I used k&n filter before i got my Injen CAI.

I bad mouth FUjita because they make an intake that took 3 times to perfect, prior to fujitas intake release I made a SRI myself (look up my statistics, threads started) in which I never had a CEL for the 6 months that I used it.

fujita may be good for other models they made but for THIS particular car it sucks and should be avoided. no one is praising RRM or k&n or injen cuz they are sponsored, we are praising them because there have been none to few complaints about them. where as fujita has had threads upon threads of problems.

doubt anyone here has bought V3 of the intake because after v2 im pretty sure everyone is tired with their crap product.

I don't think there's prejudice among brands.. It's just people are giving you their insight on what problems arose when they or someone else purchased the Fujita SRI. Hence, they suggest other name brands instead, ones which didn't have any problems when mounting.

They arent opinions, these are facts provided by those who purchased the Fujita SRI and still had problems. Fujita made 3 versions of this SRI, and still couldn't get it figured out--people still had CEL's.

Take it as you want.
