Question AEM COLD AIR or AEM SHORT RAM?

Should I get an AEM COLD or SHORT RAM INTAKE?

I am very worried about vapor log. Even with the bypass valve.
HELP! IMPUT IMPUT!!!

Well, where do you live?.. Where are you located?... If you live in a rainy place, think again... Water can come in the engine and let it jerk... Just like what happen to me.. I bought an AEM CAI and i live somewhere here in the pacific.. And my car chokes when i go thru deep puddles... But i still have it on.. And definitely better than the Shortram.. Just what i think.. Its just same, but CAI makes it a LITTLE colder..

true, there are a couple horror storries about engines siezing up after deep puddles without a bypass valve as well though. It's been my understanding that the valve is a waste of money unless you live somewhere that will almost fully submerge your CAI. I've got an aem cai and i love it...sound and performace. Just my .02

It's my understanding that the bypass valve for some reason won't fit the Lancer version of the AEM CAI. But regardless, people haven't had any problems with them even in decently deep puddles. If you're really concerned, leave the vent (fog light hole) in the bumper closed and that'll protect it more.

By the way, you have a stickshift, right? If not, your only choice is the short ram.

If you're debating over cold air intake vs. short ram, you should be deciding between the AEM CAI and RMR short ram, or RRM short ram. Less expensive than AEM short ram and same gains.

Is it true? Because i just bought a CAI with the Bypass Valve...I live in Edmonton..snows pretty much 8 outta the 12 months..will it really do that much damage without a bypass?

I also heard that breathers can do the job as well. Can anyone second me on that. Thanks!

I have AEM shortram and I don't regret not getting cold air...aem short ram is great with evo since now i can actually hear my BOV go pshhhhhhhhhhhhh when i shift gears (or press clutch)...fell in love with my car all over after intake (i have evo so you probably wont' hear that pshhhh sound unless you already turboed your car or something)
