Phantom Headers

Phantom is selling Lancer headers for $421.50 (shipping included)
If I buy one of these, do I need to get any additional junk or change anything? Or can I just bolt it on?

Probably they will bolt in

If they are the Race style headers then you just bolt them on.

If not ( street style) you will need to weld something on ( flange) to get it to work. But those are usually cheaper so I think you were quoted the ones that just bolt on.

Ask Mitsiman in the Parts thread for all US Lancers. He says there that they fit right in.

uranium, if you get those, please let us know how they work out for you. Now if we buy those headers, they will have to be removed when a turbo is installed correct?

Yes, Phantom is selling the RPW header (which I'm assuming fits) and the reason why you can't see the stock header is because it's underneath that goofy heatshiled with the crossed out hand on it...

And yes, if a turbo is installed at a later date, the header will have to be replaced with a turbo exhaust manifold.

Careful kiddies those headers replace everything from the exhaust manifold to the primary catalytic converter I'm not an emissions expert but I think that might cause a small problem.

Problems

Not sure what might happen but I know on the Mirage board where these headers were used before that you needed to replace the O2 sensor in the header to stop your check engine light from coming on.

Only other way would be to bypass it but I don't know that much about cars.

The history on these headers is that they were made for the Mirage 1.8L 4G93 engine but it seems that they are transferable to our engine the 2.0 4G94. I can't speak for these specifically but I wanted to get the 1.5L headers for my Mirage because everyone that had gotten some from a groupbuy last fall swore that they made a great improvement in performance. If they do fit the cheapest thing to do would be to organize another group buy.

I'd be in.

They did this through Apparts the other store but I'm sure Phantom can do the same thing.

RPW Headers

Yes Phantom Racing sell our RPW headers.

Our Race design replaces the origonal exhaust manifold and flex pipe but do not replace the cat converter. THey bolt up to the origonal cat converter in the middle of the car with no mods needed. If you have the cali model with the pre cat converter then this will need to be removed and you will need to modify the wiring on your 02 sensor go to the mirage forum for info on how to do this.
