im trying to find this answer out, i bought an 08 GTS (CVT) and i love it its fun, wish it was manu or an evo but for the $ i had, ill take an 08 lancer over my old 99 saturn sl2 (which was a boss car thou) but can the 09 SRI fit on the 08? has anyone tried doing this? the 09 show to gain more HP then the 08, the 08 say about 7hp gain but i would love the 09 which has between 12-20 hp gain depending the brand.
The 09 is designed for the 2.4L engine which as Injen stated in their interview has completely different ECU maps. Your 08 should have a 2.0L engine with dif maps, meaning even if it did fit, chances are you're going to have more problems than gains.
In any case you're splitting hairs. First of all any claims over 10hp for a SRI is outrageous, but let's say you did see those numbers. You wont even be able to feel a 15ish hp gain (inb4 placebos) , let alone the small difference you'd miss out on by sticking to an 08.
So basically there's no reason to bother with an 09 intake, then again there isn't much reason to bother with an intake at all, so go nuts.
