Yeah, it is in fact distributorless. That's why at least a few of us were so upset to find out that MSD DIS-2 ignition didn't work on our cars. It was apparently the only MSD ignition that could possibly have worked for us, but instead just ended up causing serious electrical problems.

thanks so much u guys...u gusy rock... yeah thats what i thought...its distributerless...but no one would believe me...and this mechanic was like...all cars have one...so i was confused....
Hey, I've warned about MDS DIS 2 won't work on ignition coil packs system (Mitsu properitary system and won't licence any design to aftermarket to approve upon it) since 3 of the 1.8L Mirage guys tried it and failed. The only thing that works is Apexi ITC - one person tried it and works.
Also, you can't really advance the timing since it relies heavily on the crank sensor before adjusting accordingly to the camshaft sensors.
