Best products for N/A OZ Lancer

I don't now to much about N/A cars. This is my frist real project car. (just got into the imports had a 69 Cheville given to me by my grandfather only 80,000 miles on it's mint plan on giving to my kids one day so I don't drive it much). I bought CAI intake from Injen, gready Evo Cat-back. I've search about headers on the site and I really don't know a few things, "may cause CEL" what does this mean? Down pipe is there a difference with or with out. I was looking at RPW, RRM, and Kamakazie headers. I also saw that RRM came out with a new manifold, would this be good to get? Please help all of you have been moding for years so I figured you were the best to ask.

Thanks.

I'd say go with the ECU first, then add more bolt ons. I think (and I know someone will argue with me) that you need to get rid of the stock downpipe...the thing isn't round...it's flat at points and bends around a bit. The Kamakaze one is round and straight.

I'll be closely watching this thread, as I have many of the same questions, and frankly, the search engine here sucks.

I'll tell you what I do know. CEL is check engine light, and that is usually caused by a sensor misreading and not always a problem in your system.

Question about your Greddy exhaust... Did you have to modify anything, like your bumper, to make it fit? I only ask because some sites mentioned it.

plus the intake manifold is a really good product! increased throttle response and look at some headers too! you should get the ECU after u get all ur mods so u can get 100% out of the mods you got

No I didn't modify anything, If they did they sure didn't tell me I had the company that purchaced it from do it for like 50 bucks, there good friends of mine. I was out of town at the time.Had my mom take it in for me. When I came back it was on never thought twice about it.

Is there ways around CEL? I'd like to know if something was wrong with the car, and if the CEL was always on it would be kind of hard to tell.

Personally I'd get the RPW header, stage 1 cam and cam gear, raised compression pistons 10.5:1 (if you're not afraid to pop the engine open and maybe connecting rods too if you've got the loot), rebuild the head with stronger valves and valves springs, port and polish, and call it a day. You won't be pulling on Vettes, but you'll have a nice, quick, responsive little car on your hands.

MIL eleminator. It's essentially a resistor pack that returns a different voltage from the 2nd sensor.

ECU gains never change...the gains you get from bolt on's will just be greater than without the ECU

also if you are worried about the cel and have no mods get a obd-II scan tool and you can reset codes (you can use one for free at kragen and most other auto suply stores.

Definitely a good start. So you know, the RPW header comes with a downpipe.

Got the RRM Header, my first mod on the Lancer but not my first mod on a car. Very pleased with the performance considering the money I spent!! Prolly goin to do ECU next.

I've decided to go with RPW Header.
What are some of the places to buy from? Sites?
